According to forbes, The richest woman in Nigeria is Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija and her counterpart Oprah Winfrey richest black woman. This means that that Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija is now the richest woman in Africa and one of the richest women in the world .
According to her biography, the youruba woman was born and bred in Lagos State Nigeria by her father Chief L.A Ogbara. She was born in 1951 . After her brief stay in Nigeria, She relocated to United Kingdom where she attended her elemetary education at Dinorben School for Girls, Hafodunos Hall, Llangernyw, Wales and after that she came down to Nigeria in a quest to complete her secondary School education at the Muslim High school, Sagamu, Ogun State.
When she was done with the completion of her secondary School education in Lagos Nigeria she then went back to the United Kingdom on a request where she bagged a diploma in Secretarial Studies from Pittman’s Central College. She once went into fashion which prompt her to attend a fashion school (American College, London and the Central School of Fashion ) she successfully bagged her certificate in fashion design school and decided to come back to her father’s land to pursue another career .
Mrs Folorunsho In 1974 was in Nigeria and she was appointed as an Executive Secretary at Sijuade Enterprises, Lagos and the First National Bank of Chicago which also have a branch in Lagos , Nigeria . Later on, she left and decided toto invest in her fashion business . In 1996, Folorunsho added another feather to her wings when she was appointed Star Deep Water Petroleum Limited to act as technical advisor for the exploration of the OPL .
