The New JAMB Proposed Model For Admission Screening – So many persons have been calling to ask what should be the ideal model for Admission into various universities since Jamb have scrapped off the existing format which was the POST UTME. Well, that controversy have been put to rest because  The Joint Admission And Matriculation Board did holed a meeting at the B.O Ukeje Auditorium, Nation Commission for colleges of Education, Central Business District Abuja on Tuesday 28th, 29th and 30th to map out strategic admission screening modalities for Colleges of education, polytechnics and Universities across the federation.


JAMB Releases How Admission Screening Will Be Done

The permanent secretary ministry of education, Dr. Shade Yemi-Esan was the very person who actually chaired the meeting. While the meeting went on, the evaluation and the screening models of some schools in previous years and other factors surrounding the admission processes in tertiary institution in the country where put into a deep consideration, and finally JAMB released a proposed model which will be used for the screening of recommended candidates.


1. That the Screening of candidates shall be for ONLY candidates recommended for admission by JAMB.

2. There shall be No written examination conducted.

3. There shall be Verification of Course Requirements (O’ levels or A’ levels).

4. Verification of valid JAMB results by checking:
i. Online Result Slip
ii. Printout
iii. Provisional Admission Letter
iv. Photo Album
v. Checklist
vi. Biometrics

5. The various Institutions are free to source from other Course(s) to compensate for SHORTFALL in any of the criteria.

The model also stated that for those list of candidates who must have scored above the minimum cut-off mark, and where NOT admitted may be forwarded to other higher institutions which may  need them for consideration. Especially their Second (2nd) Choice institutions of preferences.
