Nigeria Police Recruitment 2016 – Some days ago, i started receiving calls from persons who applied for the Nigeria Police Recruitment 2016 regarding the names of the shortlisted candidates. Well, i have to call and make some announcements regarding the news and it was later confirmed that the Nigeria Police Recruitment 2016 shortlisted names were out.
So all applicants are to be aware of this development. On Friday, Police Service Commission said it has shortlisted exactly 110,469 applicants out of the 338, 250 person who applied for the just concluded screening at the states and FCT Police Commands.
According to Mike Okiro, who happens to be the chairman of the commission on Friday said that the aptitude tests for the successful candidates would begin on Aug. 22 across the 36 states and FCT.
Mr Mike Okiro said that of the 110, 469 applicants, 22, 454 were shortlisted for Cadet ASPs, 24,456 for Cadet Inspectors and 63,559 for Police Constables.
We were meant to believe that the police service is to recruit 10,000 new personnel. In all, the commission received 911,438 applications before the first screening cut the number to over 300,000.
The aptitude according to Mr Mike Okiro is a test for cadet ASPs for both general duty and specialists will begin on Aug. 22 while that of Cadet Inspectors for both general duty and specialists will hold on Aug. 23.
Please note that the police constables for both cadres would take place on Aug. 24.
Note that all document and physical screening of specialists is scheduled for Aug. 29 after which they would have taken the aptitude tests.
Regarding those who were not selected, the Mr Okiro said some of the applicants who were screened out, where screened out based on their age, because some of them where over age, other issues included alteration and falsification of documents and year of graduation.
Other reasons for not selecting them where physical features, tattoo marks, first school leaving certificate, certificate of state origin and class of degree or diploma.
During the screening, over 115 applicants who applied were arrested during the screening for various degree of offenses which included forgery and impersonation were handed over to the police for investigation and prosecution.
Nigerians where reassured that the screening would be transparent and all applicants would be given an equal and fair opportunities to pursue a career in the police.
For those who would be caught undermining the integrity of the exercise would be prosecuted according Mr. Okiro’s warning.
To this end, all shortlisted applicants are to note that emails had been sent to all of them. He also added that the master list meant for each state have already been sent to all state commands and are they are to paste at command headquarters and examination centres.
