  It would be a good thing to dive a little bit into history books to know what JAMB is actually all about. JAMB as it is popularly known, was set up in 1978. According to its responsibility at the establishment of the institution was to  offer provisional admission into various higher tertiary institutions in Country. Though at that time, there was no Post Jamb being a prerequisite for admission into various higher institutions of the country.

 Many applicants will be very much surprised as much as i am regarding the fact that the sales of the  2017/2018 JAMB CBT Registration Form have already commenced. Well i was equally surprised at this that i have to make some calls to the various appropriate quarters for confirmation. Well, the reason for this is based on the premise that the body wants prospective applicants to be fully prepared for the 2017/18 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

 Based on the information i got, the sales of JAMB Registration form for 2017/2018 CBT  commence  on Wednesday, 23rd  November, 2016 and will be ending on Friday, 22nd January,  2017. Which means that the official application portal for registration will also close on Friday, the22nd of January, 2017

JAMB UTME Registration Fees For 2017

 In regards to the fees being paid for the 2017/2018 registration, applicants are to pay the sum of ₦6,500. Note that the JAMB scratch card is ₦5,000, then the online registration is ₦1,000 and N500 for the book.

JAMB Online Registration

 All applicants are to note that in order to be able to apply for the JAMB UTME Registration online, candidates are to visit www.jamb.org.ng and buy the form. But they are to pay some certain amount of money into either Skye Bank, Zenith Bank, Union Bank, First Bank or NIPOST.

 After applicants are successful with the registration, then an e-copy of The Last Days At Forcados High School will now be sent to you alongside the JAMB brochure.

 Things You Must do before Registering for JAMB 2017/2018

 There are very important and vital things that must be done Before applicants are to register for JAMB 2017. They are listed below.

  1. You should Inquire from anybody you know who must have gone through JAMB processes and examination to know what and what are needed.
  2. You should ensure you Get or better still Download a JAMB Brochure.
  3. Make your choice on your school of choice

Requirements for 2016/2017 JAMB CBT Registration

1. O-level Results:

 Well no candidates is expected to apply for Jamb without his or her 0-Level result (s). This means that all interested Candidates will be required to present copies of their O-level Certificates or Statement of Results which should not be more than two sittings.  For applicants whose 0-level result has reached four years since it was written, might likely be required by their institution to present the Original Certificate of the O-level examination rather than the statement of results.

 For applicants with the waiting result saga can go for the screening with your O-level registration slip.

 RESULT COMBINATION: In regards to this, applicants are permitted to combine results even if such a result combines from different examination bodies e.g WAEC and NECO. I doubt if there are any institution in the country that would allow the combinations of NABTEB results with WAEC or NECO results.

2. Right Subject Combination:

 Well all applicants are to note that a minimum of  5 credit passes in the relevant O-level subjects is required. In choosing a particular course of study note that each has its own specific subjects combination that should qualify you for admission in that particular course.

3. Important Documents:

 Only your O-level results wont be enough to get you what you want here. You will also present other documents such as

i. Your Birth Certificate or Affidavit of Age Declaration
ii. Your JAMB Original Result Slip.
iii.Applicant’s Screening Registration Slip (for those that registered online)
iv. Then your Local Government of Origin (this can be obtained at your LGA Secretariat)

4. Physical Screening:

 We were also told that this year that Jamb will examining applicants based on appearance. This is to ascertain if candidates are ‘cultists or cultist to be” This means that all applicants are advised to dress in a formal way to the screening exercise.

Checking your 2017 JAMB Result

 After you must have written the examination and the results are out, (though we will be publishing that,) applicants are to buy a Jamb scratch card and check their results.
